Dear TSO family,
Creating unique ways to bring music into the lives of Tucson students is a core part of our identity and our impact. And you just gave us a BIG lift.
Over 400 community members contributed to the 90th Birthday Campaign in support of TSO Music Education Programs, and… WE BROKE THE THERMOMETER!
Launched with a generous $37,000 matching challenge from the TSO Board of Trustees, Honorary Council, and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra League, we are pleased to announce that $107,433 was raised! This makes the Birthday Campaign one of the organization’s most successful fundraising campaigns of the last decade, with donations ranging from $1 to $5,000, and attracting 137 TSO fans to make their first ever donation.
We are so moved by the outpouring of support from the community!
The donations revealed the depth and breadth of support TSO enjoys in Southern Arizona and outside the state. Gifts were received from donors in Benson, Douglas, Marana, Nogales, Oro Valley, Sierra Vista, Tubac, Tucson and from 15 states. The Tucson Symphony Orchestra League (TSOL), family members of staff and musicians and Board Members all contributed to the campaign. It all began the night of TSO’s free community concert, Bravo TSO!, April 18, when the Birthday Campaign was first announced and continued to the end of the fiscal year on June 30.
It takes a community to make beautiful music. As one of Tucson’s oldest non-profit organizations, and like orchestra’s ac ross the country, each year the TSO relies on community support of $3.8M to engage, educate, and transform our community through live musical experiences of the highest quality. Next season, over 40,000 students and teachers from 90 schools, will feel your support by hearing your Maestro José Luis Gomez and Tucson Symphony Orchestra musicians on stage, in classrooms, and in the community. From premier musical artist Renée Fleming to our cutting-edge Young Composers Project, next season your Tucson Symphony Orchestra will continue to create culturally vibrant experiences for Tucson.
Thank you to ALL our TSO concert, artist and education program sponsors, multi-year donors, annual fund donors, and more. You make it ALL possible.

Interim President & CEO
