Providing Access to the Arts for Under-served Children and Adults
Knowing that the benefits of participation in the arts are important for all members of our community, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra created the Arts for Everyone program in 1999 to provide complimentary tickets to TSO concerts to children and adults who are facing challenges in their lives. Working through social service agencies, school districts and other organizations whose mission involves under-served populations, tickets to select Classics Concerts and TSO Pops! Concerts at the TCC Music Hall are distributed to individuals and families who have been identified by our partners.
By opening the doors of the concert hall to those who would not otherwise be able to participate, the Orchestra also opens many hearts and minds to the beauty and power of classical music. The well known ability of music to communicate, to soothe, and to inspire is greatly appreciated by these audience members whose lives hold many challenges.
Through this project, participants are encouraged to begin a life-long connection with music. The investment in Arts for Everyone will produce lasting benefits for the individuals who participate and also for the entire community as we help to develop citizens who value and benefit from the arts. The Tucson Symphony Orchestra is committed to this important project. When all are included, all are enriched.
Tickets for the TSO Concerts are valued at an average cost of $20.00 each. The season includes world-class guest artists and conductors as well as classical music ranging from the traditional favorites to lesser known contemporary works – providing a rich musical experience designed to bring our audiences surprises, delights, and, of course, beautiful music.
