Artur Tumajyan retired from the TSO in 2018.

Violinist Artur Tumajyan earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Yerevan State Conservatory in Yerevan, Armenia, where he studied with Suren Hakhnazaryan. He toured Russia, France and Germany with the Yerevan Youth Orchestra of Armenia. After moving to the United States, Artur completed a Performance Certificate at the University of Wyoming under John Fadial. In 2013, Artur graduated from Arizona State University with a Masters in Violin Performance under Professor Katherine McLin. Currently, Artur is working towards a Doctorate of Music in the same studio. Artur is the acting Concertmaster of the West Valley Symphony in Surprise and freelances around the Phoenix and Tucson areas. This is his second season with the TSO. Artur lives in Tempe with his wife Beth and their cat, Madam Butterfly, and he enjoys watching soccer.
