Brass Quintet Pays Tribute to Dorothy Dyer Vanek

Your Tucson Symphony Orchestra’s Brass Quintet came together this past Saturday to record “Amazing Grace” in memory of Dorothy Dyer Vanek.

They all knew the profound impact that Dorothy had on Tucson Symphony Orchestra – the quintet remembers her…

“Dorothy Vanek’s dedicated and generous support of Tucson’s artistic community has been a driving force in the richness of Tucson’s cultural life. Her generous financial support as well as her long-standing relationship and love for the Tucson Symphony Orchestra has been instrumental in our artistic growth and helped put the TSO on the map. The TSO Brass Quintet would like to present this short performance in gratitude and memory of her amazing generosity.”

When the TSO Brass Quintet isn’t busy playing in Tucson Symphony Orchestra performances, they can be seen in Southern Arizona classrooms as a part of our Music in the Schools program, in their annual Just For Kids show, and other performances.

Your Tucson Symphony Orchestra looks forward to continuing the legacy of Dorothy Dyer Vanek.

Hayato Tanaka and Betsy Bright Morgan, trumpet
Victor Valenzuela, horn
Michael Becker, trombone
David Morgan, tuba

We look forward to the return of your Tucson Symphony Orchestra – the return of live music. The suspension of performances has created an unexpected financial strain. If you find yourself able, please make a donation to show your support. Your gift will be put to immediate good use and provide critical relief to the whole organization.
