  • TSO principals-violin, cello, oboe and bassoon-perform Haydn’s Sinfonia Concertante.
  • Asked to compose a piece in the popular style of his student, Ignaz Pleyel, portrayed in the press as his rival, Haydn quipped, “a bloody harmonious war will commence between master and pupil” when he finished his Sinfonia Concertante.
  • There are two versions of Schumann’s Symphony No. 4. He finished the first in 1841, and revised it ten years later. The 1851 version was published first and Clara Schumann, his wife, believed it was the better version. Brahms preferred the 1841 version and published it in 1891 against Clara’s wishes.
  • Plus the world premiere piece from former TSO Young Composers Project student S. Maggie Polk Olivo.
