Federica Lombardi Live at La Scala

In January, your Tucson Symphony Orchestra welcomed Soprano Federica Lombardi to the stage for her Tucson debut performing selections from Respighi and Rossini. Federica is engaged to your conductor, José Luis, and it was special to see them connect while performing.

This summer, Ms. Lombardi was supposed to sing in L’amore dei tre re (“The Love of the Three Kings”) by Italo Montemezzi at La Scala. That performance was canceled due to the global pandemic since the theatre was shut down from March to June. Last week Ms. Lombardi took to the stage at La Scala to perform selections from Verdi’s Il corsaro, Othello, and La Traviata, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. This recital was the second of four total recitals as part of the reopening of the theatre.
