In the Introductory Young Composers Project, you’ll learn the fundamentals of music theory and composition needed to succeed as a composer: melodic construction, development of motives, form and introductory instrumentation. The final project is a string quintet composition performed by the TSO String Quintet at the Young Composers Reading Sessions in May.
In celebration of Make Music Day 2018, MakeMusic is hosting a composition contest for young composers, aged 13-21. The winner will receive cash and other prizes. In addition, their composition will be performed live in select cities as part of national Make Music Day celebrations on June 21st, 2018. Submission Deadline is April 15, 2018.
