Concert Specials
The Tucson Symphony Orchestra plays over 60 concerts every season with over 30 different programs. Some use the full orchestra, some use a small one and some use a chamber ensemble, ten people or fewer. You can read about all of our different concert series to the right. Jeans ’n Classics	“Take it to the Limit” The Music of The Eagles - Concert Special Tucson Music Hall Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 7:30 PM Jeans ’n Classics Jeff Christmas, guest conductor Jeans ’n Classics, the innovative Canadian rock ensemble, performs the music of The Eagles with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra! This concert spans the music of one of the world’s most widely-loved bands and includes the album “Hotel California” in its entirety. Hear all their hits like you have never heard them before and “Take it to the Limit”!

Bernadette Peters	BERNADETTE PETERS - Concert Special Tucson Music Hall Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 7:30 PM Bernadette Peters Marvin Laird, guest conductor George Hanson, conductor This illustrious actress and Broadway star has captivated audiences across the nation. Winner of Tony Awards, Grammy Awards, and Golden Globe Awards, Ms. Peters will leave you breathless with dramatic performances of classic and popular tunes from the stage and the silver screen. One Night Only - she lights up the Tucson Music Hall with the TSO!

Concert Series

The Classic series use the full orchestra, about 80 people and sometimes call for many extra musicians.

The MasterWorks series uses a smaller orchestra, about 40 people. This is the size of orchestra that Mozart used.

This series uses a big orchestra, like the Classic series, but instead of playing just classical music, we play a variety of popular music, Broadway hits, movie music, jazz, just about anything!

The Ensemble series feature the chamber ensembles playing chamber music, music originally meant to be played in a small room.

The Feasts combine two of my favorite things, food and music. They're called "Moveable Feasts" because after the first mini-concert and dinner, the audience moves to a different room for Dinner and the second concert.

For each one of our main series, the Tucson Symphony presents a Concert Special. Usually we have a world-famous guest artist come and perform with us for one night only. For our MasterWorks Special, the TSO and TSO Chorus perform a very special piece of music to celebrate the holiday season, Handel's Messiah.
