After a ten-year absence “The Ugly Duckling” returns to Just for Kids. “The Ugly Duckling” is Michael Fan’s retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale. As a special treat, the TSO Piano Trio will perform the enchanting “Pas de duck” and the exciting “Ducklorico.”

“Uh-oh! These Cholla babies have gotten away from their mother!” Mel the Rabbit carefully picked up the fuzzy little balls and brought them back to the foot of the nearby cactus. But, the next morning, Mel returned to find the babies back in the middle of the road. What’s going on here? Find out in Mel and Mama Cholla, a musical adventure by the TSO violinist Michael Fan.

“Pip and the Pirate” has been postponed until next season.

This fun family concert wraps up an exciting Just for Kids concert season and features
a musical enactment of “Dusty Locks and the Three Bears” by local author Susan Lowell with music composed by Ilona Vukovic-Gay, The concert will be filled with music that tells stories, including Flight of the Bumblebee, “He’s a Pirate” from Pirates of the Caribbean, “Tortoises” from Carnival of the Animals, Leroy Anderson’s The Waltzing Cat,  “On the Trail” from Grand Canyon Suite, and the Overture to William Tell.
