Mozart Festival
Mozart is the greatest composer of all. Beethoven created his music, but the music of Mozart is of such purity and beauty that one feels he merely found it - that it has always existed as part of the inner beauty of the universe waiting to be revealed.
- Albert Einstein

Besides directing an orchestra, most conductors also play an instrument. TSO Music Director and Conductor, George Hanson's instrument is the piano, and in this program he performs Mozart's delightful Piano Concerto No. 23. "But who's going to conduct?" you might ask. Mr. Hanson will conduct from the piano just as Mozart probably did when this piece was first performed over 200 years ago.

BEETHOVEN - Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage
MOZART - Requiem, K.626
There are a lot of legends about the Requiem of Mozart. A requiem is a piece composed to honor the dead, and this requiem was Mozart's last composition. Kinda spooky. Isn't it? One other spooky thing is that the Requiem was commissioned by a mysterious stranger. it might make a good movie.
