Besides serving as a nice backdrop for the TSO to perform in front of, the shell makes us sound better too. It reflects the sound of the orchestra out into the audience. |

On the other side are hundreds of cables. These raise and lower lights, scenery for operas and shows, curtains and the ceiling of the shell .

In theaters, the "Green Room" is a room where actors stay when they are not on stage. This is the Music Hall's Green Room. But TSO musicians usually just hang out backstage in the area behind the shell.
