Adrienne Horne, Cello

Adrienne Horne is Acting Assistant Principal Cellist of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra for the 2006-2007 season. She has been a member of the TSO cello section since 1996. Adrienne has served as Principal Cellist of the Tucson Pops Orchestra since 2001. Prior to joining the TSO, Adrienne performed with a variety of other professional orchestras, including the Santa Barbara Symphony and the Orchestra of Santa Fe. Earlier in her musical career, Adrienne was a member of two prominent youth orchestras in the Los Angeles area, the American Youth Symphony and the Young Musicians’ Foundation Debut Orchestra. She has participated in numerous summer festivals, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute and the National Orchestra Institute. Adrienne earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from UCLA and a Master of Music from Indiana University, Bloomington.

In Tucson, Adrienne has been featured as cello soloist with the Tucson Pops Orchestra and the Catalina Chamber Orchestra. She is an accomplished pianist as well as cellist and performs on both instruments as orchestral musician, chamber musician, soloist and accompanist. She is a dedicated teacher, maintaining a full studio of both cello and piano students. Her students are active in the musical life of Tucson, participating in youth and adult orchestras, as well as chamber music groups and other musical activities within the community.

Adrienne shares her Tucson home with her husband, Bill, a clinical psychologist, and their two felines. She enjoys reading, getting out in nature, birding, staying physically fit, and watching good movies.
