The TSO Young Artists Competition takes place each fall, with more than 50 young instrumental musicians (ages 8 – 22) competing for cash prizes and an opportunity to perform with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.  The competition is open to applicants living in Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, and Cochise counties, with the exception of the college division, which is open to applicants living anywhere in the state of Arizona.

 

2018-19 YAC Application

 

Competition Information

Division I:  college students who have NOT reached their 23rd birthday
Division II:  high school students, grades 9 – 12
Division III:  elementary & middle school students, 8th grade and younger

Eligible instruments:  strings, woodwinds, brass, melodic percussion, harp, and piano.

Application deadline: Friday, August 24, 2018 (postmarked)
Preliminaries:
Divisions I and III: Saturday, September 15, 2018
Division II: Sunday, September 16, 2018
Finals (all divisions): Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the Tucson Symphony Center
