D. Gerald (Jerry) Searfoss

Jerry is a native Pennsylvanian who lived in Maine, Indiana, Tempe, Salt Lake City, England, Germany, NYC, Connecticut, and Spokane.

He relocated to Green Valley to be closer to his two sons, four grandchildren, and three great-grandsons, who live in Tucson.

Jerry received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Albright College, an MBA, and a doctorate in accounting from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Professionally, he was a Professor of Accounting at Arizona State and the University of Utah, a national office partner at Deloitte, also serving as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Deloitte Foundation, and a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee of UBS Bank USA. He has provided financial accounting consulting and expert witness services in numerous legal cases.

He has served as a member and Chair of the Board of many community organizations such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, United Way, The Guadalupe School in Salt Lake City that served children from poverty-level families, the Spokane Symphony Associates, a 501(c)(3) that annually raised $400–450,000 per year for the Symphony, and the Inland Northwest Opera that performed in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

His hobbies include fly fishing, cooking, traveling, photography, and gardening.
