Broadway Superstar Kristin Chenoweth To Perform With The Tucson Symphony Orchestra

Program to Feature Best of Broadway, TV & Film Careers

(Tucson, AZ)─Broadway and television star Kristin Chenoweth, best known for defining the role of Glinda the Good Witch in the hit musical Wicked, debuts with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra in concert on Thursday, January 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tucson Music Hall. An Intimate Evening with Kristin Chenoweth will feature many classic and beloved hits from the Broadway stage.

Chenoweth has starred in a variety of successful film, television, voiceover, and stage projects over the span of her career. She received an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on the ABC series Pushing Daisies and a Tony Award for her performance in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. She earned a Tony Award nomination for her role in On the Twentieth Century. She has previously earned two Emmy Award nominations for her role in Fox’s Glee, as well as a Tony Award nomination for the role of Glinda in Wicked.

Chenoweth has appeared across the globe in concert as a soloist and has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Pops, the National Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, and the San Francisco Symphony. She is also the recipient of a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Live Performance/Theatre.

An Intimate Evening with Kristin Chenoweth will be conducted by her longtime Musical Director Mary-Mitchell Campbell.  She has served as the Music Director for many Broadway shows including:  Mean Girls, The Prom, My Love Letter to Broadway with Kristin Chenoweth, Tuck EverlastingFinding Neverland, Big Fish, The Addams Family, Company, and Sweeney Todd. She won a Drama Desk Award for Best Orchestrations for the 2006 revival of Company and was nominated for Best Orchestrations for her work on the Off-Broadway productions of Allegro and Hello Again.

About her Intimate Evening, Chenoweth explained to Tucson Lifestyle, “I have been singing with orchestras so long that it feels like a part of me. I’m constantly doing new music even if it’s an older song that I’ve never done before. As a guest with a symphony, I always want to knock it out of the park.”
