During the 2024-25 season we’ll be welcoming new faces to the TSO stage!

TSO’s concertmaster Lauren Roth will be on sabbatical for the 2024-25 season, having won the Assistant Concertmaster position with the Atlanta Symphony. Lauren has been the TSO concertmaster for eleven years, during which time she’s won the heart of Tucson audiences.

Taking a sabbatical from the Tucson Symphony for the 24-25 season has been a weighty decision for me. I feel very attached to the organization and the Tucson community. Maestro Gomez continues to lift the level of the orchestra and plan exciting programs that expose us to new works and new collaborations. I will miss making music regularly with the TSO in the upcoming season, but I am especially looking forward to our reunion in October for the Beethoven concerto. It’s a concert that has been in the plans for years, and I am thrilled to share this sublime music with an orchestra and audience I hold so dear. See you at the concerts!

The TSO is excited to welcome a series of guest concertmasters throughout the season (including some familiar faces). Fans of Roth will have the opportunity to hear her perform the Beethoven Violin Concerto October 5 & 6 on Lauren Roth Plays Beethoven. Purchase your tickets before they sell out!

You’ll also see fresh new faces in many of our sections! Stay tuned to Encore for profiles of our new musicians.
