Experience his artistry in Elgar’s achingly poignant Cello Concerto. Elgar’s final full-scale orchestral work, written in 1919, reflected his grief in the tragic aftermath of World War I. Closing the program, Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloé captures love in one of his most intoxicating scores. Stravinsky called it one of the most beautiful products of all French music.
