TSO’s 2026–27 Season opens with an explosive overture conjuring up ancient Mayan civilization with its visceral energy and rhythms. Sensemayá catapulted Mexican composer Silvestre Revueltas to international fame, creating a musical punch that recalls the impact made by Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring 25 years earlier.
One of the most beloved violin concertos in history, Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece is filled with an emotional range nothing short of incredible. Technically demanding and exquisite to experience, this piece will set the bar very high for the year to come. Joining the TSO is guest artist Amaryn Olmeda, a budding superstar violinist receiving rave reviews for her virtuosity and commanding stage presence.
Closing the Opening Weekend performances is Richard Strauss’ grandiose tone poem Ein Heldenleben (A Hero’s Life), an ironic musical self-portrait, sprawling and monumental in scope, yet intimate in its storytelling. An epic contemplation on battling one’s enemies (music critics!), working toward peace, finding love and ultimately fulfillment, this orchestral showpiece is the perfect vehicle for your TSO.
We invite you to join us as we embark upon an unforgettable season.
