Young Composers Reading Session

The TSO Wind Quintet performs a new work composed in 2020 by a student in TSO’s Young Composers Project. The original performance was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is being presented here for the first time.

Jonas Blackketter (15) is a homeschooling sophomore who has studied classical piano for 9 years, performing in multiple competitions. Jonas also enjoys playing guitar and has played on the Young Artist Stage at the Tucson Folk Festival twice, as well as gigs accompanying musicals and playing at weddings and funerals. This past year he has enjoyed pursuing distance running for Palo Verde Magnet High School.
