Carlie Rigg began her tenure as violinist in the Tucson Symphony Orchestra in 2000. Having earned Bachelor and Master’s degrees in violin performance, she performs in many musical venues throughout Southern Arizona. While her first love is being a part of the symphony team, she enjoys performing in chamber orchestras, small chamber ensembles and is the owner and manager of Aracelli Strings, a successful wedding music business.
Prior to being a member of the Tucson Symphony, Carlie was a member of the Spokane Symphony where she worked with fellow musicians and administration on pilot programs to develop new concert venues and programming. She also performed as Associate Concertmaster of the Westminster Chamber Orchestra, the Spokane Opera and as violinist in the Sandpoint Festival. An active chamber musician, Carlie performed in the Mozambique Trio and the University of Idaho Faculty String Quartet.
When not performing, Carlie is mom to three beautiful children and is an active educator and volunteer. As well as maintaining a private studio, she volunteers regularly as a string clinician in the public schools, donates lessons to string students who are troubled and in need and is a former member of the Opening Minds Through the Arts education program.
When not involved in a musical activity, Carlie enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, reading and designing and making specialty handbags.
