Paul Rathbun Ensey began playing the double bass at the age of seventeen after playing the cello for twelve years prior. After graduating from Sahuaro High School in Tucson, he acquired his Bachelor Degree in Music Performance from the University of North Texas in 2011 under the instruction of Jeff Bradetich followed by a Masters in Music Performance from DePaul University where he studied with Robert Kassinger of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and graduated in 2013.
Mr. Ensey has worked and performed with several orchestras across the country holding positions in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago as principal bass, the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, and has performed with many other orchestras and festivals. He is currently performing as a member of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Ensey has taught music privately for many years, has been a coach in numerous youth orchestra programs and is currently teaching orchestra in the Tucson Unified School District.
