Beethoven and the Bullfighter

Beethoven’s Piano Trio no. 1 (the “Ghost”) is paired with Turina’s La oración del torero, or the bullfighter’s prayer, for string quartet. Ibert’s Trio for Violin, Cello, and Harp, a showpiece for all three instruments, opens the program.
