Cuban-American Artist in Residence Tommy Mesa presents a program of cello-centric music. The program opens with Seven, a solo piece he commissioned from Andrea Casarrubios as a tribute to essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Caroline Shaw’s Limestone and Felt (for viola and cello) and Schubert’s beautiful Quintet in C Major, which features two cellos, round out the concert. This is a wonderful chance to see Mesa, a phenomenal cellist, perform in a chamber setting before his Classic series debut in December. This concert is available as part of a TSO Up Close Series Subscription. This concert is expected to last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. There will not be any intermission. The All Souls Procession starts at 4 p.m. on Sunday, but setup for the event may cause congestion before, during, and after the event near the procession route along Grande Ave. from Speedway Blvd. to Congress St. Keep this in mind if your travel route brings you near the procession route.
