This week’s lesson is about Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.” As we have discussed a couple weeks ago, this piece has historically brought communities together during difficult times. This is a great activity for the whole family to participate in!
Remember, you don’t need any musical training to work with or teach TSO activities. There are no wrong answers here! The questions included in these lessons are prompts to get your children thinking creatively and with curiosity about the world.
As an added extension to this activity, invite your children to discuss or research recent stories from around the world where people are using music to inspire, comfort, and create a sense of community during the COVID-19 pandemic (singing from balconies in Italy, musicians performing on Instagram, etc.).
