Classics with a Twist!

New for the 2023-24 season: it’s Classics with a Twist! Three of our Friday evening concerts will be presented in this new format: Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition (September 22), Ravel and Dvořák (November 10), and Ravel’s Boléro (January 19).

We’re excited to bring you a new way to experience your TSO with pre and post-concert activities, and an engaging conversation during the concert. Make sure to come early to experience all the fun- there will be no shortage of things to do!

We’ll kick things off on opening night with Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

Grab a pre-concert drink in the Twist Lounge, featuring specialty cocktails (both with and without alcohol) themed to the experience. While you’re there, spend some time grooving to the sweet sounds of Naim Amor and the Cocktail Hours, performing a mix of jazz, tiki, and lounge music (trust us, you won’t want to miss this). When inspiration strikes, visit our friends from The Drawing Studio who will be leading a collaborative visual art activity. Mussorgsky was influenced by art, and you can be too!

When it’s time to take your seats, you’ll meet the host, our very own Betsy Bright (TSO second trumpet and instructor in our Young Composers Project). She and Maestro Gomez will take you through the music in real time, adding new insights (and some fun behind the scenes information). Have questions that pop up during the concert? Stick around for the post-concert Q and A with Maestro Gomez and Zee Zee. This concert will include all the beauty that is Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and will be presented with no intermission.

Don’t have your tickets yet? Grab them today and join us to experience the excitement.
